You can train new researchers or educate existing researchers here. To specialize a researcher he has to improve in his area of expertise three times. As far as we know this specialization has no outstanding properties apart from being shown in the researchers name and therefore making it all well-arranged.

Only ONE researcher can be trained or educated further. If the advanced training is cancelled, all time spent on it is lost!

Specials

Extension of the university decreases the training duration new researchers.

Furthermore the training duration will be decreased by 1% per level. That may sound very little but later in the game the difference is not to be underestimated when a researcher is trained hours or even days faster.

With every university level researchers can be trained better and further. The maximal training level of a researcher is calculated by university level * 10. They can make further experiences in their research but they are above the maximum education level to be trained further.

Generally a level 3 university is sufficient.

The university can only be upgraded on the main planet!

Duration of training

The duration of training is always valid for the researchers level and not for the scores of the branches.

The following durations apply to a level 1 university.

Level 1 - 5:56 hours

Level 2 - 8:55 hours

Level 3 - 11:53 hours

Level 4 - 14:51 hours

Level 5 - 17:49 hours

Level 6 - 20:47 hours

Level 7 - 23:46 hours

Level 8 - 26:44 hours

Level 9 - 29:42 hours

Level 10 - 32:40 hours

Observe that durations can change by a level. That's caused by the researchers levels which are saved as floating point numbers and are rounded in the formula - it's especially obvious on hybrid-researchers.

Summary

All researchers are displayed with their name and specialization. By clicking on a researcher his detailed specializations are displayed and the researcher can be trained further or be placed in the queue. Furthermore all researchers that are active in the research facility are displayed separately. A greyed out researcher is not available either because he is being trained further, active in the research facility or in an auction.

Queue

The queue is only available for players with a premium account. By clicking on a researcher you can decide whether you sell, train or fire him - or if he joins the queue if the university is used to capacity. If the researcher joins the queue he will start his training directly after the preceding researcher finished - if that's possible. Since researchers can be put in the queue from research it may happen that the researcher still is busy in the research facility. If that is the case the researcher will be skipped - if not he starts his training immediately. Once again - researchers being in research will not be accounted for.

Thus it is possible to constantly train researchers without pauses - but that can be made up for by non-premium account users by playing more actively.
